Manifesto
Together, let's commit to sustainable fashion.
Eco-designed bags, made as closely as possible in
fabrics and leather certified by environmental labels.
Manifesto
We cannot consider a leather goods product as an everyday consumer good. If a bag is an accessory, the emotional commitment it conveys must be in unison with the environmental commitment it represents: its manufacturing and supply process must be remarkable, respectful and ecologically virtuous, for a perennial fashion product, irreplaceable, exclusive design.
THYRS was founded by Delphine and Gilles Lasbordes with the desire to create a creative leather goods brand for sustainable fashion, and to engage in a meaningful approach. A local artisanal confection in France from certified eco-responsible materials and sourced as closely as possible. No seasonal collections, but small exclusive series. No sales, to offer a fair price all year round. The transparency on the radius of manufacture of the models, measured in km.
A product design, durable, and respectful of the environment.
Since the beginning of our adventure, we have chosen to manufacture in France by entrusting the making of our models to two partner workshops, in Ile de France and in Normandy, leather goods workshops with remarkable know-how.
Above all, it is a committed approach:
- with a positive social and ethical impact; this makes it possible to save jobs in France, and guarantees good working conditions and remuneration for the people who make our bags, while respecting their health and safety,
- which participates in the defense of French leather goods know-how in the rules of the saddlery tradition and the perpetuation of this know-how,
- which aims for a reduced environmental impact since the carbon footprint linked to transport is very limited.
The fashion industry releases 2.1 billion tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere every year. Our industry makes extensive use of fossil raw materials, and manufactures ever further to reduce costs. It is time to reverse this approach.
We primarily use natural raw materials, but also recycled materials.
We ensure that our suppliers have the best environmental labels.
We select them according to their geographical location, in order to have a local production chain.
The fashion industry impacts the environment; it is urgent to do better. This is our daily commitment in our life, and in the way we design our bags.
We develop quality, durable bags with a remarkable design. We are committed to :
- Use materials and manufacturing processes labeled for their low environmental impact: Fairtrade, GOTS, Oeko-Tex Step, Oeko-Tex Standard 100, GRS,
- Use clean packaging,
- Compensate for carbon dioxide emissions related to the delivery of your order
The transparency of the manufacture of your bag is one of our commitments, we indicate for each product its radius of manufacture from spinning to confection.
Our objective is to produce as closely as possible in order to reduce the carbon footprint linked to the transport of materials and finished products. Our factories and suppliers are labeled, so manufacturing quality is better controlled.
